Yaphank Historical Society

The Yaphank Historical Society is pleased to announce they will receive a grant of $20,000 from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation as partial funding to build capacity in the organization by improving technology access to its historic houses and collections.  The grant will be used to create an interactive software program to enhance the visitor experience at the recently restored Homan Gerard House and Mill Complex, one of four historic buildings managed by the Society. The Homan-Gerard house is located at 4 Yaphank Avenue, and is owned by Suffolk County in partnership with the county Parks Department, Division of Historic Services.  The house restoration was completed in 2019 with a matching grant of $300,000 from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation.
